The exhibition spaces also serve as a stage for performative events curated by Roberta Melasecca and Michela Becchis, with the participation of Daniela Beltrani, Francesca Di Ciaula, Anahi Mariotti and Silvia Stucky. Immersed in the ‘factory of ideas’ of the Atelier, the reality and lived experience that emanate from Sergio Mario Illuminato’s ‘Communicating Artistic Organisms‘ are transformed into body and flesh, blood and bones, through objects, gestures and rituals. The bodies of art and the artist, united and unified, become reference points, integrated spheres of experience; they are realized and take shape in the relationship between the action of the body that confers symbolic value to the space with which it dialogues and the reaction that the space determines on the body itself, thus amplifying the mental dimensions of imagination and memory. Each artist, with their particular and specific research, interprets the themes of ‘iosonovulnerabile‘, in a deep and intimate dialogue with the spect-actors who will be involved in the performative actions.

JANUARY 16, 2025 – In recent years, Anahi Mariotti’s artistic research has investigated the relationship between art, representativeness in public space and gender-based violence. Starting from the embodied experience, her research explores the lived experience of female bodies, trans bodies, animal and monstrous bodies, using art as a means of envisioning possible futures. She explores territories and seeks their memory. Her interventions take the form of a delicate gaze on reality, using poetry and wonder to move towards deeper planes, reflecting on the intimate difficulties of life and then launching towards new imaginaries.
ANAHI MARIOTTI. (Recanati, 1986) Queer artist and transfeminist activist of the Lucha y Siesta Women’s House, she works on communication and artistic practices related to the relational aspect, in a visual research focused on the body, feminism, memory and territorial contingencies. She prefers site-specific work and participatory art. She also works on communication without stereotypes, anti-violence training and LGBTQAI+ issues. She has worked as the head of an Anti-Violence Center and currently collaborates in an anti-violence and anti-discrimination social secretariat office. She has participated in awards, artist residencies and exhibitions in Italy and abroad. She collaborates with the Master in Gender Studies and Policies at the University of Rome Tre.

JANUARY 23, 2025 – Francesca Di Ciaula’s artistic research, ranging from photography to the creation of installations and performances, is based on the need to generate direct contact with the public by addressing crucial issues such as care for the environment, women’s (denied) rights and gender-based violence. Each performance consists of simple, metaphorical gestures, combining the action of the body with that of symbol-objects that enter the scene, sometimes mediating the relationship with the spectator, who is called upon to participate in the various artistic moments.
FRANCESCA DI CIAULA. Born in Padua in 1960. After classical high school, she attended the Faculty of Art History at the University of Padua. In this city she learned the technique of working with precious metals. In 1985, with a scholarship from the Rietveld Art Academy, she moved to Amsterdam, where she settled, dedicating herself to the art of jewelry, understood as an object dedicated to and connected to the emotional and physical body, and to ceramics. Having returned to live in Rome in 2009, she works between Amsterdam, Rome and Tel Aviv. She has exhibited in national and international museums and galleries: her works are present in the collections of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam NL, Museum Modern Art Arnhem NL, Dallas Museum of Art USA. In 2021 she received the Letizia Battaglia Prize and in 2024 the Special Mention for the 5th edition of the Time Festival.
JANUARY 30, 2025 – Central elements of Silvia Stucky’s artistic work are water and the simplicity of everyday life. In them the artist observes stillness in changeability, depth in ‘simple’ things, marginal, everyday things, like a falling leaf. She is interested in nature, because it teaches the rules of functioning of the environment in which we live (but which we are destroying); water, because it keeps us alive (and even water is polluted); the thinking of other cultures, because it is a wealth of knowledge and skills, indispensable in the globalized world. Francesca Gallo wrote: «From paper to installation, from performance to video, Silvia Stucky’s research is made of minimal interventions in which authorship is thinned out in reproducing oriental decorations, arranging an herbarium, reproducing natural phenomena or spontaneous human behaviors, enhancing an involuntary beauty, in the light of respect for the other in all its forms».
SILVIA STUCKY. Lives and works in Rome. Her research includes painting, artist’s books, installations, gardens, video, photography, performance. She began her exhibition activity in 1984; her first video work was presented in 1996 at the XVII Festival International de la Vidéo in Locarno. Since 1999 she has also been working with photography on the theme of landscape shaped by human intervention, aiming to capture the constants that manifest themselves beyond geographical differences. Her works have been exhibited in exhibitions and video festivals, group and solo shows in galleries and museums in Italy, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Egypt, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Indonesia, India, Iran, Morocco, the Netherlands, the United States, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey.

FEBRUARY 6, 2025 – Daniela Beltrani’s artistic research is based on experiences, reflections, ideas, images coming from dreams, zazen sessions or alpha-wave brain states: a complex inner investigation intertwined with her background in the humanities and philosophy. Each performance invites the audience to a holistic experience of art, understood as a means to cultivate their own individual aesthetic sense and thus recover authenticity and interconnection beyond the fragile parameters of a sensationalist and materialist society. The latest series of works aim to stimulate a response from the audience from levels of consciousness beyond the mind, intellect and ego, through actions of a meditative quality, performed in repetition, stillness, silence and non-verbal communication.
